Soda ash is an odorless, white crystalline solid belonging to the chlor-alkali family and sourced from Trona and sodium carbonate-rich brines. Natural soda ash producers enjoy some advantages over synthetic producers in terms of lesser cost of production and smaller ecological impact. Synthetic soda ash generally uses greater quantities of energy and emits more carbon dioxide than the natural kind during manufacture. The natural manufacturing process contributes only a small portion in Asia. GDP growth rates generally dictate the branched-out soda ash industries on the demand side.
